A Bohemian Castle Wedding

A Bohemian Castle wedding

Wedding Floral crownDo you dream of a Bohemian castle Wedding?  Farnham Castle remains one of my favourite wedding venues in Surrey. Who doesn’t want to get married in such an historical location, and with such beautiful surroundings!?  Magdalena & Brendan chose to have a Bohemian castle wedding at Farnham castle in Surrey, and were married nearby in St Josephs Church, Aldershot.  My style of wedding photography is very relaxed.  It is important to tell a personal story of your wedding day, which includes detail shots to create the cement to bind your images together, as well as plenty of candid of your guests enjoying themselves throughout the reception.

Magda wore an amazing floral headdress made of roses, skilfully created by Hannah Berry Flowers one very talented florist and designer, her flowers were just perfect for this bohemian castle wedding.  I have seen her floral creations a few times – her work is just amazing!

I was also commissioned to do a family portrait sitting – in essence an engagement sitting that also included the couple’s daughter. Its a great way to get to know one another, both in terms of personality, and to ascertain what type of shots you may want on your wedding day.  Usually it is a revelation to my couples who had initially spoken of a ‘fear of the camera’ or not enjoy having their photo taken, as this doesn’t have to be the case.  In fact, if you aren’t enjoying it that certainly comes across in the images, the camera never lies, right!?  After a pre-wedding shoot, its almost guaranteed to take the ‘fear’ away. One less thing to have to think about on your wedding day.

This pre-wedding shoot showed me the inner beauty of Magda. She turns out to be a wonderful person to photograph, happy to try new things, and a love of creativity. Thanks to her sharing her Pinterest board with me (I can highly recommend that as a way of communicating your likes and dislikes to your wedding photographer!) I was able to create a few more styled portraits – that still only took minutes to create – including her purchase of a cathedral veil off E-bay for a particular shot!  My point being, you only do this once, you want your wedding photographs to be amazing – so why not let the dialogue begin, and have the perfect set of wedding photos.

One final point! Have you considered having a toastmaster for your wedding!?  The lovely Iain Pompei was a great help, especially helping to create the heart shaped group shot of the whole wedding party – having the ingenious idea of using a broom to draw it into the gravel, making my life alot easier! Check out his website for more details!

If you are planning a Bohemian castle wedding, and are yet to find the photographer for you, I would love to talk about options available, and hear more about your wedding over a cup of coffee or even a glass of wine!
